Lockhart was born with no left hand and that is part of who she is--but this isn't the whole truth. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not hide her disability but doesn't focus solely on her disability. The message? The message? We have many different aspects, that our identity and physical selves are not all that they appear. Lockhart speaks via video in Nashville. "I don't intend to let it define my personal life. I do not want to be only known as a disability expert. My daily life isn't dependent on it. I lead a normal daily life, and come up with my own solutions to issues. Because it's part of who I am It's a topic worth talking about. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken is one that will last an entire lifetime. She has been a source of inspiration with regard to this. Still, she admits that she went through phases in her life in her body, and felt uncomfortable in certain situations wearing clothes that showed the arms of her. It's her choice to wear what she wants, and she happily shares pictures of her wearing these clothes. She says that self-love is a process. It's not clear when you'll reach the final stage. This is a process, and I'm not sure you'll ever get there. It's important to have people that know and understand your situation. They'll be the ones who ask your: What are you fret about?
